Kronborg: A place full of activities for children in North Zealand

Kronborg Castle provide fun and games for children and their adults of all ages for hours. The old castle and museum offers activities for children, and is located in North Zealand right next to Øresund.

A great day with lots of activities in Elsinore

In 2023, 12 monsters have moved into the castle in the family exhibition 'Monsters - ugly creatures with big feelings' by Shane Brox. Here you'll get a treat as you walk around and among the sensitive monsters that inhabit the Casemates.

On Frederik II.s magnificent castle you can also, as always, greet the sleeping Holger Danske down in the basement, or take a trip up one of the towers and look across to Sweden.

The castle offers daily guided tours, and throughout the year we also have several changing history hunts for the whole family. We look forward to welcoming you to the old castle and a day filled with fun activities for children and experiences for the family!

Kronborg is a castle where there is room for all the kids' questions

If you are looking for activities for children in North Zealand, Kronborg Castle is worth a visit. Our skilled castle hosts offer guided tours and are happy to talk to anyone who wants to learn more about Danish history and what really happened around the castle's corridors and dark casemates.

You can enjoy yourself inside and explore the castle from cellar to attic and take child-friendly guided tours, or take a walk around the castle outside to see the moat and the old cannons.

If you as a family are looking for indoor and outdoor activities in North Zealand, Kronborg Castle is the ideal family experience, where there is room for both play and history.

Exciting and fun activities for kids in North Zealand - visit the exhibition 'Monster' by Shane Brox

In 2023 we present the exciting exhibition 'Monster' by Shane Brox. Here you will explore down in the Casemates, where 12 historical monsters have moved in. Each monster represents an emotion that we all know, and the exhibition is one of our activities for children that will give rise to many great conversations about their own emotions - both while you visit the exhibition and when you return home.

Once you have visited the exhibition, you can visit the rest of the castle. Maybe you can find monsters hidden in paintings or in the building itself around the castle? Many of the experiences you have at the castle are ones you can take home with you and talk about.

Maybe Holger Danske evokes a special feeling in the children? Maybe they ask questions about who has lived in such a castle? Or maybe one of the monsters from the exhibition represents a special feeling that the children have experienced at school or when they have played with friends, and which the visit to Kronborg gives them the opportunity to talk about at home?

There are lots of exciting guided tours and activities for children at Kronborg, providing many hours of entertainment. In addition to the 'Monster' exhibition, we have changing guided tours and typically also history hunts during the school holidays, so you can, for example, take a trip around the castle and look for strange creatures or go exploring behind Kronborg's locked doors. Remember to keep an eye on the current program so you know what to expect on your visit.
