Whistleblower scheme for the National Museum of Denmark
On this page you will find the whistleblower scheme for the National Museum of Denmark, to which Kronborg belongs. You can use the whistleblower scheme to draw attention to illegal or reprehensible matters concerning the museum.
You can use the whistleblower scheme if you are employed or formerly employed at the National Museum, including as a volunteer or in an unpaid internship, if you are a business partner, employed by a business partner or subcontractor to a business partner with whom the National Museum has a collaboration.
What matters are covered by the whistleblower scheme?
You can contact the whistleblower scheme about violations of EU law, such as public procurement, prevention of money laundering, etc. and serious offenses or other serious matters of importance to the performance of the National Museum's tasks.
The following are examples of what can be considered serious offenses or other serious matters of importance to the performance of the National Museum's tasks:
- Criminal offenses, e.g. breach of confidentiality, misuse of financial resources, theft, fraud, embezzlement, fraud, bribery, etc.
- Gross or repeated violations of legislation, e.g. the Public Administration Act, the Personal Data Protection Act, the Public Access to Information Act, etc.
- Serious or repeated violations of administrative law principles, e.g. impartiality rules, the requirement of objectivity and the principle of misuse of power or proportionality, etc.
- Serious or repeated violations of important internal guidelines, e.g. on business travel, receipt of gifts, accounting, etc.
- Severe personal conflicts in the workplace, such as sexual harassment or sexism
- Deliberately misleading citizens and business partners.
You should always have concrete knowledge or reasonable suspicion that such serious matters have been committed before you use the whistleblower scheme.
About anonymity and confidentiality
The National Museum of Denmark's whistleblowing scheme allows you to anonymously submit information about critical issues to a trusted whistleblower unit, which can investigate the matter further. Through the system, you can have a follow-up dialog with the whistleblower unit. This dialog is also anonymous if you choose not to disclose your identity.
The National Museum of Denmark's whistleblowing unit is anchored in Personnel under Operations and Administration, and only the trusted case officers from the whistleblowing unit can access your report.
If you submit information to the whistleblower scheme from a computer on the National Museum's network or via the link to the digital whistleblower portal on the National Museum's website, this may be registered as part of the general logging of user activities on the National Museum's network. This can be avoided by typing the web address(https://natmus.sit-wb.dk) into a browser on a private or public computer that is not connected to the National Museum's network.
If you are not comfortable reporting directly to the National Museum of Denmark or if you are in doubt that your report will be treated objectively by our whistleblower unit, you can alternatively make your report to the Danish Data Protection Agency, which operates an external and independent whistleblower channel.
In any case, the Whistleblower Protection Act limits the circle of those who are allowed to know a whistleblower's identity information - and information from which something can be inferred.
If you choose to provide identity information when submitting a report on the whistleblower portal, only the museum's whistleblowing unit is allowed to know it.
Information about a whistleblower's identity may only be disclosed to others with the whistleblower's explicit consent, unless the disclosure is to another public authority - such as the police - and for a narrow purpose defined by law - for example to prevent crime.
Legal protection against retaliation
As a whistleblower, you are protected against retaliation by Act no. 1436 of 29/06/2021 - Act on the protection of whistleblowers.
